New York City

Als verzamelaar van Amerikaanse postzegels moet je toch bewust of onbewust affiniteit hebben met de stad New York. Of dit nu is naar aanleiding van de Nederlandse pelgrims die daar vanuit hun eerste nederzetting er een welvarend handelscentrum maakten wat later uitgroeide tot de huidige metropool, of mogelijk de aanblik van het vrijheidsbeeld dat statig en fier al meer dan 130 jaar de bezoekers begroet en indrukwekkend is afgebeeld op de 15c groene luchtpostzegel die je als kind mocht ontvangen op de post van een ver familielid. Eenieder zal een ander referentiekader hebben.
